Sohela Suri is the founder and sole member of Suri Law, a boutique law firm based in New York City. Suri Law is a full service corporate practice. Sohela has a comprehensive background in litigation and corporate practice: she has worked on multi-million and even billion dollar litigation. Sohela routinely helps clients navigate business disputes in and out of court. She has a wealth of experience working with various clients such as corporate clients, entrepreneurs, investors, insurance companies, and individuals. Suri Law services clients globally, and Sohela has worked with clients not only in New York City and Long Island, but also across the US, and in 7 countries.
As an attorney, Sohela prioritizes giving clients information and legal advice to make informed decisions about their legal matters which optimize their business objectives. Sohela believes in a wholistic approach to advising clients in business and commercial disputes so that they can make informed decision based on not only legal considerations but also the practical impact their legal decisions may have on their businesses.
Sohela’s litigation practice primarily involves disputes stemming from business transactions or disputes amongst business partnerships, though her practice encompasses all commercial litigation. She also represents clients in derivative actions. Sohela also works with clients to try and resolve disputes pre-litigation through informal settlements; however, she is not afraid to litigate and zealously represent her clients in court.
Prior to founding Suri Law, Sohela worked for a California-based law firm doing corporate counsel and fractional general counsel work. She also worked for a Michigan-based law firm doing work on civil litigation, corporate matters, criminal litigation, and adminsitrative proceedings.
Sohela speaks five languages: English, French, Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu.
Sohela is licensed to practice law in the State of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. Tax Court.
