Mediation
Kayla Riera-Gomez
Kayla Riera-Gomez is the President and founder of Sunshine State Mediation, Inc., a statewide firm dedicated to helping people and businesses resolve disputes without the stress of drawn-out litigation. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil, Family, County, and Appellate Mediator, as well as a Qualified Arbitrator, with more than a decade of experience litigating complex civil matters throughout Florida. Today, she devotes her practice exclusively to mediation and arbitration, helping parties resolve disputes efficiently, effectively, and outside of the courtroom.
Since 2019, Kayla has helped hundreds of parties reach amicable settlements in both pre-suit and in-suit matters. She mediates a wide range of disputes, including first- and third-party insurance claims, contract disputes, personal injury, commercial litigation, employment matters, partnership disputes, HOA issues, class actions, real estate, construction, family law, and business conflicts.
Kayla brings a uniquely strategic perspective to mediation, shaped by over ten years as a trial attorney and more than a decade working for the Florida Legislature. She has represented insurance carriers, businesses, and individuals in cases involving negligence, premises liability, property damage, and commercial disputes. This combined background gives her a deep understanding of both the practical challenges of trial and the policy considerations behind the law, which she uses to guide parties toward meaningful and lasting resolutions.
Kayla earned her J.D., cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center and her B.A. in English from Florida State University. She is admitted to the Florida Bar and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.
At the heart of her work is a passion for turning conflict into clarity and helping clients move forward with confidence and peace of mind.
