Elissa A. Tisdahl
Elissa A. Tisdahl is an Intellectual Property Litigator and Registered Patent Attorney with an AV (Preeminent) peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell. She is admitted to practice law in Florida and Illinois, as well as before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Her practice takes her to various federal, state, and appellate courts around the country where she conducts both jury and non-jury trials in intellectual property matters. Also, Elissa’s trial practice brings her before various administrative boards in the USPTO including the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
In addition to her trial practice, Elissa has an active prosecution practice in the USPTO, where she represents clients in a full range of patent and trademark matters. She also has significant experience with intellectual property licensing and due diligence as well as with trade secrets and copyrights.
During Elissa’s academic journey, she earned a B.S. from Bates College, where her studies led her to investigate cytokine levels of pregnant women diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at Rush University Medical Center, and to delve into tumor cell differentiation in prostate cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Elissa earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a distinguished member of the Dean’s List and the International Moot Court Honors Society. Her academic excellence was recognized with the CALI Award for Highest Grade in Negotiations.
Elissa has given numerous seminars and lectures to attorneys and non-attorneys about intellectual property law and litigation including professional organizations, colleges, universities, and law schools.
Elissa is an active member of the community. She has worked as a community health volunteer in Paraguay and volunteered for disabled orphans in Russia. She has also served as an instructor and counselor at a low-income community center, and currently volunteers with various local community organizations.
