Robert Scavone Jr.

Robert Scavone Jr. is an appellate lawyer at Florida Appeals, which provides trial support and appellate representation throughout Florida. Robert began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Barbara Lagoa on Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal and then for the Honorable Adalberto Jordan on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Before joining Florida Appeals, Robert was an assistant state attorney in Palm Beach County from 2017–22.

Robert is committed to serving the members of The Florida Bar. He is a member of the Appellate Court Rules Committee and the Code & Rules of Evidence Committee. He is also a member of the board of directors for the Broward County Bar Association and the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee. Robert served on the Criminal Procedure Rules Committee for six years and was vice-chair during his final year on the Committee.

Robert is the host of Summarily—A Podcast for Busy Lawyers. He reviews opinions from the Florida appellate courts, the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Eleventh Circuit. He also interviews judges, lawyers, and law professors on a wide range of topics.

Robert earned his law degree, cum laude, from the Florida International University College of Law in 2012. He is an adjunct lecturer at FIU Law, where he has taught Florida Constitutional Law, Federal Courts (co-taught), and Professional Responsibility. He also taught Constitutional Law at FIU’s Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs.
